THE CHALLENGE:

Ford wanted to reach an upscale audience for their all new Mustang Mach-E via entertainment in a way that traditional advertising couldn’t do. And rather than doing a traditional sponsorship of an existing Hollywood movie, they asked us if it would be possible to create their own feature film and have it earn distribution on streaming platforms based on its own merit.

THE SOLUTION:

We helped Ford move from the role of sponsor to financier. We reached out to our network of writers, show runners, directors and producers to source ideas that would appeal to an upscale independent film audience. The best of these ideas came from Roman Coppola who envisioned an experimental film, created by multiple directors—each without knowledge of what the others were doing. A process the surrealists called “Exquisite Corpse.” He set forth a few parameters around the notion of this being a road movie, where the lead character would drive from one director’s scene to the other throughout the movie.

Since its debut in the summer of 2022, the film has racked up an impressive list of accolades and critical acclaim:
